"Generations" co-producer Friedrich Stark passed away on Christmas day at his apartment in Cape Town, according to Eyewitness News (EWN) reports. He was 62.

Stark was also a producer of the Afrikaans TV soapie "Binnelanders".

His wife of 36 years, Elsje Stark, told EWN that he may have died from a heart attack or stroke.

"Generations" runs on SABC1 and is the longest-running locally produced soap drama, according to the SABC.

The "Generations" team said in a statement that Stark had been a well-known actor in his youth who went on to work for SABC in the 1970s.

"When he left the SABC in 1985 he and his wife Elsje started Stark Films, a television programme production company best known for the co-production of the daily drama 'Generations' (with MMSV Productions) for SABC1 since 1994, and the production of 'Binnelanders', produced for MNET and later KykNet since 2005," said Generations.

"Friedrich was an industry pioneer and active leader in the local television production industry and played a prominent role in the Independent Producers Organisation. He will be remembered for his entrepreneurship, vision and ability to inspire and lead."
Taking to social media in celebration of their 15th wedding anniversary, Connie couldn’t hide her happiness when she poured her heart out to her hubby.

“Love is a beautiful thing and should be celebrated every day,” said Connie.

Connie said that every moment with her guy has been nothing short of a blessing. “I thank God for choosing the perfect husband and life partner for me,” she added.

The actress went on to thank her man for making her heart sing.

Everyone knows that Connie and Shona are a force to be reckoned with, both personally and professionally.

During an interview with City Press earlier this year, Connie revealed that the "deep-rooted" love they share has always been at the centre of their marriage.

“Marriage is also about respect. That’s what has carried Shona and I,” she told the paper.

On Tuesday, 01 November, at 19:00 she will make her big television acting comeback on the SABC 3 prime-time show. Aside from hosting the Lotto, it has been two years since we last saw Danke in action on the small screen. But she strongly insists that she never left acting, she has just been busy with film work.

"It's not my big acting comeback, because within acting we do different things that people don't get to see. I suppose as far as TV is concerned it's my acting comeback, because people last saw me on Generations and this is the next big thing that people will see me doing," Danke points out.

"But as an actor I've been acting since I left Generations. It's just that it has been on different mediums. I was doing film work. So as far as TV is concerned, this is the first time I'm coming back on TV."

Danke was cast a couple of months ago as the calculating and conniving new character in Horizon Deep Khothala Mokoena.

Danke adds that she is very different from her much-loved damsel in distress role of Dineo Mashaba on Generations.

"Khothala is a go-getter, wears the pants, no-nonsense and straight talker. She is a very strict businesswoman. It's nice to play a woman who is not only that strong and goes after everything she wants, but at the same time you see her gentleness and softness in her when she is a mother and wife," Danke teases.

"What will surprise the audience the most is that Dineo and Kothala are two different women firstly. Secondly, with Dineo they had a long time to see her grow and develop. She was this impressionable trophy wife when we first saw her and blossomed into this businesswoman, who was still not sure of herself. Kothala is very self-assured, knows where she is going and she is unapologetic about it."

Danke has been working closely with Shona Ferguson, who play her character's on-screen husband Tyson Mokoena.

"It was the first time working with Shona. He is just an awesome, wonderful and professional guy to work with. He is quite generous in his work, which is a wonderful quality you can have as an actor because then other actors want to work with you," Danke shares.

"He was on the show before me and I get to shoot most of my scenes with him. So he has being quite welcoming and allowed me easy into the show."
In the social media world, imposters are common especially for well-known people like celebrities or Soapie stars.

Unfortunately, the ease and anonymity of the Internet makes becoming an imposter easier to accomplish and harder to track. And for those that are well known enough to be targeted by impostors but not well-known enough to earn an official badge, it can become a big problem.

The latest victim to fall prey of imposters is Generations actress Thuli Phongolo (Namhla) whose pictures have been used by @july_ogvv to lure girls into prostitution by claiming she knows rich man that can take care of them, on top of that asking R700 commission to introduce girls to these "rich man"... , she felt puzzled about this.

Namhla was alerted by one of her fans (Fikile Sithole) after sporting an account that was using Phongolo's pictures to convince men to give the imposter money in hopes of meeting her and also taking girls to prostitution.

Namhla felt so touched by this stupid act "Baby girl, stop this nonsense immediately!!! This is disgusting, I actually don't have words for you... you've failed us as women!!! You need serious help".

The Instagram account of @july_ogvv has since been taken down after it was reported.

The viewers have spoken! Generations: The Legacy is South Africa's most watched TV show.

It seems that Generations may have won back its crown as the people's champ, dethroning Uzalo as the most watched TV show in the country.

According to viewer audience statistics (known as TAMS) released this week, Generations: The Legacy amassed over 8 million viewers at its highest point in May, compared to Uzalo's highest figures of just under 8 million.

The figures show Generations as the most-watched TV show in South Africa for the month of May, at 8 002 137 viewers to Uzalo's 7 972 988.

And at number three we have Skeem Saam, which is also a fan favourite, with 7 million viewers.
Upto now, some of you still doubt whether the Zimbabwe born Chi Mhende (Charlene Chiedza Kudzai Mhende) who plays the role of a young bachelor Wandile Radebe on SABC 1 popular show Generations the legacy is actually a woman, but hey, if you don't believe then you have to admit it.

The revelation about Wandile's gender broke through social media rumour-mills but was later proved to be true. So many young ladies used to refer to Wandile as Generations' hunk and many were yearning  and craving to have a piece of him (her) but this revelation must have drowned them miles deep.

Majority of the throng usually feel puzzled and wonder as to why Chi Mhende chose to take on Male acting roles.
She says despite having auditioned for other roles for the show over six years, playing Wandile was a great, hard and yet exciting experience.

“To prepare for playing Wandile I had to take a look at sexual identity, gender dysphoria, body dysphoria and I really  allowed myself to fall into the physicalization of the part,” Chi explained in a recent interview with SABC 3′s Expresso Show.

Chi also said to prepare for the role she googled a lot to do with men including their mannerisms.

Chi is the first woman on Mzansi television. Chi has played a man before as Earnest Worthy in the play The Importance of being Earnest.

Ndaba says all it took was cutting down on her sugar intake and adopting a low-carb lifestyle.

Actress, wedding planner and businesswoman Sophie Ndaba, who recently made headline for remarkably losing a lot of weight, is not impressed with people assuming that she used weight loss products to get the job done.
She says all it took was cutting down on her sugar intake, adopting a low-carb lifestyle and exercising.
Speaking to Sunday Sun, Ndaba made it clear she’s not an ambassador of any weight loss product, and took time to set the record straight. “I’m not and never have been,” she said. “I can’t be preaching that people must change their eating and living lifestyle, meanwhile I’m busy promoting a product that could possibly have sugar contents and put their lives at risk,” she added.
She further told the paper that she wouldn’t mind endorsing a product in the future, provided it’s proven healthy by diabetic dieticians.
“I’m a brand. I’ve been in the industry for over 25 years. All brands that are professional know rules of engagement and have a responsibility to correct a rumour that flies around their brand,” the businesswoman said.

Nathi Msiza, the Mamelodi, Pretoria, man in the dock for allegedly hijacking Generations: The Legacy actor Rapulana Seiphemo, pictured, has told the Pretoria Magistrate's Court that prison warders are torturing him on the grounds that they no longer see Seiphemo on screen.

During his brief appearance in court yesterday, Msiza, 26, told the magistrate of his troubles at Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre.
"I have a problem in custody. Prison warders are harassing me about this case," he said.
"They tell me that they don't see Tau Mogale on Generations because of me. Yesterday they beat me up and [electrocuted] me."
The magistrate told Msiza to report his claims to prison authorities.
Seiphemo plays Mogale in the popular SABC1 soapie. He is reportedly recovering at home after he was discharged from hospital last month. He is yet to return on set after a collision on the N14 near Diepsloot on February 14. Seiphemo reportedly lost control of his Audi A4 when Msiza and an accomplice, Tebogo Makunyane, 34, were allegedly hijacking him. The pair allegedly got inside Seiphomo's car when he stopped at traffic lights and forced him to drive towards Mogale City.
Seiphemo's car apparently caused an accident that killed three people during the alleged hijacking. These were Makunyane and Donovan van Zyl, 24, and Jacobus Coertze, 28, from Krugersdorp.
Msiza survived. He still walks with crutches after being injured in the collision. Msiza faces two charges of hijacking and defeating the ends of justice in connection with the incident.
His trial was expected to start yesterday, but the state asked for postponement citing the need for further investigations by police.
Msiza appeared without a lawyer and said he would deliver his own defence.
The matter was postponed to May 26. Msiza returned to Kgosi Mampuru II, where he would be kept until his trial begins.
He was incarcerated here after being denied bail on March 17.
At the time, the court ruled that he was likely to abscond if released because he had already done so when he was previously charged for minor crimes in 2012.
