The social media killers are at it again.

Their latest victim, actress Manaka Ranaka who is famous for playing the role of Lucy Diale on SABC 1’s long running soap opera Generations: The Legacy.

According to fake social media posts, Ranaka was involved in a fatal car accident.

A fake Facebook post showing Ranaka's picture next to that of a wrecked car read: “RIP Lucy Diale – Car accident in Soweto.”

The 39 year-old star was forced to prove that contrary to these rumors, she was, in fact, very much alive and kicking.

She did so through Instagram where she posted a photo of herself surrounded by her loved ones.

“Reporting Live from heaven. PS: Michael Jackson says hi,” Ranaka joked.

It has become common for celebrities to be killed on social media these days.

Other local stars who have fell victim to such rumors include Kwaito star L’vovo, award-winning Hip Hop artist Emtee, actress Terry Pheto and DJ Black Coffee, to name but a few

Former Generations actress Sophie Ndaba is fighting back against cyber bullies for body- shaming her over her dramatic weight loss.

Taking to social media in an open letter, Ndaba diarised her struggles with obesity, revealing that her battle with diabetes was the reason behind her shedding the extra kilos in the last year. "I'm sending my love to all my friends and family who are concerned about my weight and health," she wrote on Instagram.

"Living with diabetes doesn't mean my life must stop. It means I will fight to live and encourage those who already are suffering from this deadly disease.

"I started my weight loss journey because I was obese and it affected my health. I made a confident choice to start eating well and lose weight.

"I want to encourage those who are struggling with obesity and say don't worry [about] what people think, even if they will think you are dying. Being overweight landed me in hospital."

Ndaba also opened up about losing both her parents to the chronic illness.

"Some people sadden me because I have lost both my parents through diabetes."

She continued to encourage South Africans living with diabetes to get healthy, and reiterated she remains unshaken from all the cyber bullying.

"[I'm] just surprised that grown people share such heartless opinions."

Ndaba could not be reached for comment.

Thandi Mavata, the ex-wife of Ndaba's businessman husband Max Lichaba, defended Ndaba on Facebook.

"Let's wish Sophie well and understand that diabetes finds power when one is fat or obese.

"I also pray that she keeps fighting for life and never care about what people say on social media about her."
Papa Penny left Twitter in stitches after he dubbed his mother a hero for not putting him in a condom and throwing him away.

The show might be in its second season but viewers are still shocked at the additions he makes to the "Papa Penny dictionary". Last night, Papa Penny explained that he considers his mother a hero because she didn't throw him away in a condom.

He also took his family horse riding, with hilarious results.

The musicians' reality show is a firm favourite and tops the Twitter trends list almost every Wednesday. Viewers took to Twitter to share how they "always" learn something new from Papa Penny.
Fans of Rhythm City were left in tears on Wednesday when the show paid a final tribute to actor Dumi Masilela with a touching memorial service featuring his real life mother and brother.

Dumi, who played the role of Sfiso on Rhythm City, died in hospital after being shot during an attempted hijacking in Tembisa on August 2.

The on-screen memorial service came a week after Dumi's character made his last appearance on the show and featured touching tributes from several of the soapies most popular characters.

The show's producers revealed last month that Sfiso's exit would mirror Dumi's murder, with one of the characters reporting his hijacking to others on the show.

Fans of the soapie added their voices to the tributes and mourning seen on screen, flooding social media with messages about Dumi.

Popular actor Sindi Dlathu, known as Thandaza on Muvhango, is leaving the soapie after been with the production for 20 years.

“Muvhango has been more than a job to me, it has been my life for 20 years and I’ve loved and cherished every single moment of playing Thandaza. After 20 years I’ve decided to give the Thandaza character a break in order for me to grow as an artist, venture out to explore new opportunities and discover what I can do as an actress and as a human being,” she said.

Her last episode will be aired in March next year, though Muvhango’s associate producer Morishe Matlejoane said  the production is not bidding her a permanent farewell, but freezing of a character.

We might see her again in future as her character will not be recast.

Dlathu also said this was not the end of her journey as she would always be a part of the Muvhango family.

“I have cherished every single moment Sindi has been part of the shows I have done and she remains one of the most talented people I have ever worked with. I have loved working with her and was looking forward to watching her continued growth. I wish her nothing but the best as she continues to grow and I have no doubt that she will tackle any role and character that comes her way the same way she has handled Thandaza. I wish her continued success and may God continue to bless her,” said, Duma ka Ndlovu, Creator and Executive Producer of Muvhango.
Thando Thabethe announced her resignation from Generations: The Legacy earlier this year. Shortly after this, it was revealed that she had just secured her own talk show
Thando revealed that her brand new show, Thando Bares All will be coming to TLC in early 2018. Upon hearing this, most people put two-and-two together, and deduced that she had left the soapie to concentrate on the talk show.

In a series of short tweets, Thando revealed that this theory was far from the truth.

Thando’s talk show looks like it will be an exciting and authentic addition to the TLC stable. A press statement expressed the brand’s sentiments around Thando’s show:

“Focusing on the popular TLC shows and themes viewers know and love, Thando Bares All will encourage people to be open and honest about the things that society might be afraid or embarrassed to speak about. From body positivity, outrageous style, naked attraction, polygamy and super-human achievement, nothing will be off topic in this refreshing and entertaining talk show,”

Sunday night’s episode of Date My Family has left social media users in shock, as usual.

We met Mbali, a 25-year-old Zulu girl who is a chef. Obviously she made all sorts of comments about the food her potential dates prepared for her.

She met Itu, also a 25-year-old man, who could not believe Mbali was her age. He said she looked older than 30, while his friend said she was “a four out of 10”.

Though his friends seemed to like her, Itu hated everything about her. Most of all, he hated her drinking. Mbali said she loved her alcohol, saying her hobby was actually drinking.

In fact, she could not leave Itu’s house before finishing her wine.

“How can a person come to someone’s house and behave like that?” asked Itu, who was not at all impressed with Mbali.

He said he didn’t want her to pick him, and she didn’t, asking if he was “okay upstairs”.

In turn, Mbali did not like Itu’s salad.

She went on to meet Bernard’s family, who also had doubts about her. Bernard did not like that Mbali wore pants. He was a churchgoer who did not drink alcohol at all.

He said though he did not judge Mbali’s life choices, he just didn’t think they would make a good couple.

She then met Tumi, a 24-year-old Venda man who said she had lips that looked like “Kit-Kat ice cream”.

When she got to his house, she did not want her wine to be poured in another room to avoid a love potion being used against her.

Mbali was really not in the business of hiding her love of alcohol as she also asked for “something stronger”.

She arefused to pray for the food, saying she was not a churchgoer and only went on Good Fridays.

She loved everything about the food – except for the sauce that apparently had an aftertaste.

She said she had eight tattoos, including two that were on her “boobs”, and one on her thigh.

She said she loved pain, something she would apparently get the best of from potential date Tumi because his “Lamborghini is strong”, referring to his penis.

The news pleased Mbali, who said Venda men had a reputation of being gifted down there.

She ended up choosing him because “he’s a pushover”.

Tumi in turn liked her but said he didn’t see the two being a couple as yet.

He added that he had a problem with her love for alcohol.
Tonight's bachelor looking for love was 30-year-old self-employed Thulani. He was looking for a down to earth woman who is ready to settle down, "I am a very happy guy and I would like someone that is happy too." he said.

The first bachelorette looking for love was Amanda. She was looking for a down to earth guy who is willing to commit and build something.

The date with her family was pretty decent, Thulani was very chilled and it was easy for them to get along with.

The second hopeful looking for love was Sam, she was looking for a tall dark and handsome guy, "I want a man that is financially stable, he must have a steady career and he should love kids." she added.

The date with her family was the most authentic, we thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

The final hopeful looking for love was Asavela, she was looking for a blesser and not a boyfriend. She was looking for everything she did not have.

Thulani chose Sam and the date was a little awkward to watch. They were not as compatible as we thought they would be.

After chasing his crush, Koketso for weeks on end, Nhlanhla thought it would be best to ask for the assistance of UyangthandaNa? to help get his crush in his corner.

Unfortunately, things did not end well for the 21-year-old

According to Koketso, she found the guy to be very annoying, especially after Nhlanhla called her 35 times since she gave him her numbers. Talk about being desperate.

From the get go, Koketso knew that she wanted nothing to do with Nhlanhla who was speechless the moment his crush walked through the door.

You could tell how annoyed Koketso was after realizing that it was Nhlanhla who was after her heart.

Shame, Nhlanhla tried by all means to charm the young lady but dismally failed. He compared her to a chicken bone, showered her with other various compliments but Koketso was just not impressed.

Instead of his compliments, the only thing that impressed Koketso was the free food and champagne.

We knew this guy wasn't going to get the girl after he said he was tired of being patient and wanted her immediately.

Anyway, Nhlanhla got rejected and left the show clearly disappointed and somewhat angry at being rejected. It's ok Nhlanhla, the love of your life is probably out there just waiting for you to recognize her.

Make sure you check out the repeat of this episode this coming Sunday on Mzansi Magic.
Season 2 focuses on the events following the "suicide" of Nox's mother (which the community blames Winnie for) as Winnie fights to clear her name in the eyes of the people and gain the trust of Nox back all with the support of her MK veteran aunt, Nolwazi.

"Through sheer grit, street smarts and resourcefulness, Winnie embarks on a spirited fight with big bad wolves, suppressive power and gender dynamics, sub servitude, toxic masculinity and her own shadow to discover that – with her band of sisters by her side – they can all be the heroines of their own stories," explains Mzansi Magic in a statement.

Will Winnie ever find her happily ever after with Lebone in the glamorous Johannesburg?

#UyangthandaNa: Dineo turns down Ndivhuwo

Will Nox escape the clutches of a cruel stepfather who rules her life with impunity?

Will Londi and Thish be able to keep the ninjas together and help rescue their trapped friend?

Find out as Season 2 of Is’thunzi premiers on Mzansi Magic (DStv - Channel 161) on Monday, 10 July at 20:00.
Ndivhuwo and Dineo were close friends since last year August and are avid churchgoers as well, however, Ndivhuwo decided to take things further by asking Dineo out.

Clearly shocked at Ndivhuwo's gesture, Dineo actually looked like she was about to choke on her own spit when she found out it was Ndivhuwo who invited her on the show.

Ndivhuwo's feelings for Dineo became even stronger when she saw that Dineo was complimenting her on the clothes she was wearing. Which, to be honest, was an innocent gesture of kindness.

Dineo has a boyfriend whom she has a child with. How awkward?

What we can appreciate about Ndivhuwo is that she was really determined to get a 'yes' from Dineo. She even pulled the sympathy card, but unfortunately, that didn't work.

Tonight's bachelor was Thabiso, he is a Production Coordinator from Mondeor. He was looking for a gorgeous driven lady, "I want a confident girl, she must be God fearing. I can not stand ignorant girls, that would be a deal breaker."

The first hopeful looking for love was Refiloe. She is looking for a man that has good qualities, "I want an organised guy, he must know his story, I can't stand a disorganized guy."

The date with her family was okay, there were a few awkward moments and we were not surprised when she wasn't chosen.

The second hopeful looking for love was Thando, she was looking for a loving guy that is career orientated, " I am not picky, I just want a clean guy who dresses well."

The date with her family was the most authentic, they all got along like a house on fire.

The final hopeful was Mpho, she was looking for an employed guy who is ready to commit, "he must be employed, I want someone who knows what he wants."

Malema on TB Joshua: It’s not for me to judge

The date with her family was a complete disaster.

Thabiso chose Thando and they seemed like they were into each other, we wish them all the best.
A shy Dineo was dealt a band hand when she found herself in an abusive relationship but after meeting Sandile, the good guy in the hood, she realized very quickly that she deserved better and that he is all she needs.

Dineo met Sandile in December 2014 after she bumped into him chilling outside of his house with a couple of friends and since she laid his eyes on him, her life hasn't been the same.

Although Dineo is deeply in love with Sandile, she had to address the elephant in the room which is the glaring fact that Sandile is already in a relationship.

Sandile did confirm that he is in a 3-year relationship which he loves and enjoys being in.

However, earlier on Dineo thought she could brick the other woman and have Sandile all to herself, unfortunately, the guy declined her proposal.

At some point, we honestly thought Dineo was tearing up.

Being rejected is really a hard pill to swallow guys especially if it's witnessed by the entire nation, how does one bounce back from a curve like that?

It was love at first sight for Hendrick when he first met Adolphina, unfortunately for him his proposal to Adolphina wasn't easily accepted from the go.

After a few days of convincing, Adolphina eventually approved of Hendrick's proposal to be his girlfriend, little did she know that Hendrick would be a hit and run.

After finding out that Adolphina was pregnant with his child Hendrick disappeared for almost 10 years with no communication whatsoever.

Understandably so, Adolphina's family was disappointed and thought Hendrick's actions were very disrespectful.

We were also quite shocked to find out that Hendrick only revealed to his mom that he had a child when his daughter was around 13 to 14-years old.

Thankfully, Hendrick humbled himself and reached out to Adolphina and her family to claim his role as present father in their daughter's life. However, upon his return, he also managed to win Adolphina's heart again which eventually lead to their wedding.

Nomsa even commended Adolphina for her patience throughout these years.

However, Twitter was relentless.

Regardless of Hendrick's past, their wedding was beautiful and like all weddings, there were hiccups here and there but all was well.

We especially loved their traditional attire and decor.

Our favourite was when we saw Adolphina dancing, for a minute we thought she was dancing with her husband only to find out it's another man.

Quite strange considering that your first dance should be with your husband?

Hendrick then went on to explain that the reason he was not dancing with his wife is because he is a shy man and does not dance.

Surely your shyness should take a back seat on your wedding day no?

We later went on to find out that the man Adolphina was dancing with was her cousin.

Hmm, this cousin was dancing extremely close to Adolphina though.

Even Hendrick's facial expression caused great concern for us, but hey, that's just the cousin so let's leave it at that.

Congratulations to the couple, if it wasn't for Adolphina's kind heart and forgiveness we doubt that this wedding would've happened.

We hope Hendrick will appreciate the fact that he has a real woman on his side, and doing her wrong twice would be his greatest mistake ever.

The bachelorette was ThamTham, she is a 29-year-old businesswoman.

She was looking for a guy that is driven, clean and somewhat handsome.

The first hopeful looking for love was Richard. He is a chef and a part time DJ. Richard was looking for a focused and kind woman who he can spend the rest of his life with.

The date with his family went well, they all got along like a house on fire and the chocolate bit at the end was super cute.

The second hopeful looking for love was Thapelo. He is looking for a honest & respectable lady, "I am not big on looks, I just want a lady that has morals and values."

The date with his family was also decent, ThamTham is pretty chilled and she is easy to get along with.

The last bachelor looking for love was 29 year old Khulekani. He is a DJ, he was looking for a sharp and respectable lady, "I do not want a fat or skinny lady, I want a girl that is neutral, she must obviously be beautiful and smart."

The date with his family was okay, ThamTham and his mom shared a very sweet moment but we weren't shocked that she did not choose him.

She chose Thapelo and the date was pretty awkward because of the silence moments in between, we hope that the pair figure it out because they look good together.
