Unfortunately, the ease and anonymity of the Internet makes becoming an imposter easier to accomplish and harder to track. And for those that are well known enough to be targeted by impostors but not well-known enough to earn an official badge, it can become a big problem.
The latest victim to fall prey of imposters is Generations actress Thuli Phongolo (Namhla) whose pictures have been used by @july_ogvv to lure girls into prostitution by claiming she knows rich man that can take care of them, on top of that asking R700 commission to introduce girls to these "rich man"... , she felt puzzled about this.
Namhla was alerted by one of her fans (Fikile Sithole) after sporting an account that was using Phongolo's pictures to convince men to give the imposter money in hopes of meeting her and also taking girls to prostitution.
Namhla felt so touched by this stupid act "Baby girl, stop this nonsense immediately!!! This is disgusting, I actually don't have words for you... you've failed us as women!!! You need serious help".
The Instagram account of @july_ogvv has since been taken down after it was reported.
