Upto now, some of you still doubt whether the Zimbabwe born Chi Mhende (Charlene Chiedza Kudzai Mhende) who plays the role of a young bachelor Wandile Radebe on SABC 1 popular show Generations the legacy is actually a woman, but hey, if you don't believe then you have to admit it.

The revelation about Wandile's gender broke through social media rumour-mills but was later proved to be true. So many young ladies used to refer to Wandile as Generations' hunk and many were yearning  and craving to have a piece of him (her) but this revelation must have drowned them miles deep.

Majority of the throng usually feel puzzled and wonder as to why Chi Mhende chose to take on Male acting roles.
She says despite having auditioned for other roles for the show over six years, playing Wandile was a great, hard and yet exciting experience.

“To prepare for playing Wandile I had to take a look at sexual identity, gender dysphoria, body dysphoria and I really  allowed myself to fall into the physicalization of the part,” Chi explained in a recent interview with SABC 3′s Expresso Show.

Chi also said to prepare for the role she googled a lot to do with men including their mannerisms.

Chi is the first woman on Mzansi television. Chi has played a man before as Earnest Worthy in the play The Importance of being Earnest.
