Sunday World is reporting that Gumbi has been thrown out of his luxury home by his wife after he allegedly physically abused her.

The paper further reports that the lanky thespian has allegedly gone back to his parental home in Soweto, where he is sleeping like an okapi.

Gumbi could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press - his cellphone was constantly off and his colleagues at The Bomb Shelter production house also had a hard time locating him.

His wife declined to comment.

"I'm not ready to talk to you about that at this stage, please talk to him," she said.

But the couple's relatives, who did not want to be named because they did not want to ruin their relationship with the warring couple, confirmed the winter cold fronts had been playing games with Gumbi.

"She obtained a protection order against him after he beat her up," one of the relatives said.

"We understand the order says he shouldn't enter their home in Fourways."

The kin also said Gumbi has been ordered by the court to appear before a magistrate and oppose the wife's order or forever stay out of their home.

Another relative confirmed the two have separated after the wife obtained a restraining order against the actor last week.

The relatives said his wife obtained the protection order after opening a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm (GBH) against Gumbi at the Douglasdale police station last month.

This was after he allegedly punched, kicked and dragged her on the floor of their apartment following an argument.

"This man beats her up every time they have a little misunderstanding," the source said. "He has been doing this for the past two years."

The wife is said to be scared that she will die at the hands of Gumbi . "S he can't even wear a short dress because she has a lot of scars on her thighs and legs

One of Isibaya's lead actors is apparently struggling to contain his addiction to alcohol, according to a report.

Bongani Gumede is said to have checked into the Houghton House Addiction Recovery Centre late last year for his drinking addiction.

Drum magazine reports that Gumede was booked into rehab but did not stay long. A close friend of Gumede's told the weekly that the ' 'Isibaya star', who plays Mandla Ndlovu struggled to keep up with the rehab programme.
"He has a problem with alcohol and he is trying to fight it, but he is really struggling. He was there but he left before finishing the programme. You could see that he was in so much pain when they were injecting him as part of treatment. He cried like a baby," said the source.
A hospital insider confirmed that Gumede was an inpatient at the centre. When contacted for comment, Gumede declined to respond to the claims.

Andile Gumbi was arrested and charged with assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm after he allegedly attacked and punched his wife and dragged her on the floor. 

According to reports, Andile Gumbi's wife allegedly locked him out of their Randburg home, after which he allegedly broke down the door, attacked her, physically punched her and dragged the terrified woman across the floor.

A case was opened at Douglasdale police station and Gumbi was arrested. The soap actor spent Freedom Day behind bars and appeared in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Gumbi was released after his court appearance. He will have to appear in court again later this month. There's been no statement from Mzansi Magic regarding the actor.

The host of Mzansi Magic's recently-ended Clash of the Choirs says "it's three-times as good" as the music competition show has had one of its most successful seasons ever.
Famous as the presenter of Ithuba's Lotto Powerball betting draw on Tuesday and Friday nights, Maleka is already setting Mzansi Magic's soapie Isibaya alight as Thandeka's new love interest.
Maleka, 25, says he so much yearned to be on TV that he wanted to study at the National School of the Arts in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, but his family could not afford it.
"I've always been a TV enthusiast. I used to be critical of what I saw on TV as I thought I could do better."
Then Soweto TV finally came to Maleka's rescue. It was not such a struggle to get in as he showed so much potential. He presented four shows, including The Gadget Show and Ziyamporoma.
"Three months after auditioning in the early 2000s I was called back, but was told there was nothing available yet.
"That was when I decided to camp at the studios in Orlando West until I got a show."
Maleka also tried his hand at the SABC1 actuality show Selimathunzi but did not make the grade, ending as runner-up to Lunga Shabalala.
In 2012 Africa Magic was his next destination with the flagship Star Gist, a DStv entertainment show with a broadcast footprint in more than 15 African countries.
"It was a popular show. I didn't know that until I got to Nigeria and Ghana. People were clamouring for my attention. I was the guest of popular African stars in music and the TV world, I hosted stars like D'Banj, AKA and Ice Prince.
"I was nominated for African music awards. It was humbling that my work resonated with the rest of the continent.
"I was in and out of the country as the show's numbers swelled. But I wanted acceptance in my own country and didn't want to rush into anything international. I began to study the local entertainment market through the Broad Market Index, then last year Ithuba approached me."
With Clash of the Choirs concluded, his next big thing will be to cause ructions on Isibaya as Don Webster

Isibaya lead actor Andile Gumbi almost spent Freedom Day locked up in police cells for allegedly moering his wife.
The talented actor, who plays the character of Zweli, the feared character in the award-winning soapie on the Mzansi Magic soapie, was nabbed on Monday. Police spokesman Daniel Mavimbela confirmed that the hunky star was arrested and charged with assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Gumbi, who is also a dancer and singer, was not immediately available for comment and had not returned messages at the time of going to print.  Sunday World understands that the actor from Durban in KwaZuluNatal, who once had a stint on Broadway s allegedly punched his other half following an argument. They were at home sitting and discussing something when Gumbi got irritated,” said a source close to the couple. It is understood that the pair had a heated argument when Gumbi pushed his wife and stormed out of their Douglasdale, Randburg home.
He apparently came back the following morning with another woman believed to be his side chick. ‘It was very disrespectful of him to come with another woman at their home. So when his wife questioned him, he got angry again. The door was locked when he came back. He broke it and got inside. He started to assault her and started to pack his belongings,” said the mole.
The star, who was voted by one of our sister publications as one of Mzansi’s Sexiest Top 12 celebs in 2015, allegedly started beating her up, punched her on the back and dragged her on the floor. A case was opened at Douglasdale police station, after which Gumbi was arrested and appeared in in the Randburg Magistrate s Court on Tuesday. He was released after his court appearance. Mavimbela said the star’s case was postponed for further investigations and he will appear in court again later this month. He was previously romantically linked to socialite Hlengiwe Ngcobo.

Rumours of an Isibaya audition taking place soon have been running amok on social media and in the industry. Although it was unclear if the rumours were true.
According to the enquiry that ZAlebs made about the auditions,mMzansi Magic’s PR & EG Assistant Emmah Ngomane released a statement confirming that Isibaya does hold auditions but they are not open castings.
“Please note that Isibaya holds auditions every year in Durban in order to discover talent. They have done so since the soapie began, and have over the years discovered the likes of Jessica Nkosi, Andile Gumbi and Nomzamo Mbatha, just to name a few. This year, they are going to do the same. However, kindly note that these are not open castings, therefore we cannot disclose the audition dates and venues," read the statement.

With an exciting new season of Isibaya to look forward to, Mampho will also delight audiences in her new role on SABC 1’s Mfolozi Street 2.


As much as some of us dislike her role as Iris on Isibaya, we can’t deny that Mampho Brescia has been making great strides in her acting career.
Last year, she released her latest film, The Jakes Are Missing, which received raving reviews from local movie critics.
And now her team has informed us that Mampho Brescia has been selected for a lead role in the second season of SABC 1 drama, Mfolozi Street.
Mampho has expressed great excitement in being part of this new production.
"I am so excited to be part of this production, which has already proven itself to the audience due to it very impactful stories. The quality of writing is exceptional, and I am so thankful to be working with such a high calibre cast. There is nothing as thrilling for a professional actor than being part of a thrilling storyline and being able to reach for one’s best work through daily interaction with high calibre colleagues," said Mampho in a statement.
Some of her high calibre colleagues include Hlubi Mboya, who also has been enjoying taking pictures of her life on the set of Mfolozi Street.

Mvelase will play the role of Phumelele’s (Ayanda Morotho) no-nonsense uncle on the popular Mzansi Magic soapie.


There have been no word yet on when Mvelase’s first air date will be, however we can confirm that he just started shooting with the show.
There is also no clarity on how long his stay with the show will be, but for now he is with the show on a recurring status.
“We can confirm that Mike Mvelase has recently joined Isibaya. It is a small role, but has possibility for the future. We are not promising anything,” Isibaya publicist Emmah Ngomane said.
