According to Daily Sun the actor said that he was shocked to find his picture on a poster advertising the event.
“I was so shocked when I saw the poster. I was scared my fans would think I was rude for not showing up but my legal team is dealing with it," he said.
However, the event's organisers blamed the debacle on a communication breakdown. "We didn’t speak to him directly. I think there was a communication breakdown between him and his management. We wouldn't use an artist on posters without their consent," one of the organisers known as DJ Webster told the paper.
Khaya also warned fans not to believe the fake advert through a social media post.
"If you were heading there to see me, please don't be disappointed because I'm not going to a gig that did not book or even ask for a quotation this is illegal and my legal team is working on it...I set examples," he wrote.
