Hip Hop megastar Emtee is set to make his much-anticipated debut on Muvhango tonight.
The Roll Up rapper will portray the role of Malose on the SABC 2 soapie; the oldest of three children and he comes from a humble background.
Malose’s back story is what many South Africans can relate to.
The character is described as a hard worker and did everything by the book when he was in high school. He believed that if he persevered he would reap the rewards.
Malose got very impressive results in high school and went to university with a full scholarship. But when he completed his business degree, he was in for a rude awakening. Try as he might to find a job, he just couldn’t find one.
He took on the first job he could get – which was as a waiter at Dukathole. So far, he’s managed to go under the radar but what his employers don’t know is that he’s been stealing from them. He justifies this to himself as the world owing him something.
“Shooting Muvhango was a dope experience and it was my first time working on a soapie. I learnt a lot and also realized that being an actor is not as easy as it looks. Acting is one of my passions and I would honestly like to pursue this further. Being in the same soapie as the likes of Thandaza, Chief Azwindini and KK was a memorable experience,” Emtee said in a statement.
