Rapper Emtee has spoken out for the first time since rumours of a possible feud between him and his manager surfaced, telling fans watching the SA Music Awards that he and his manager are cool.

Last week reports claimed that Emtee's manager had been withholding prize money from him and fellow Ambitiouz musician Fifi Cooper.

But speaking to Bonang at the SA Music Awards on Saturday night, Emtee denied the gossip.

"Nah, it's not true. Me and my manager are really close. He's like my pops," he said.

The rapper went on to explain that he would not be where he is today if it wasn't for his manager.

The reports claimed that Ambitiouz boss Kgosi Mahumapelo had grabbed nearly half of the pair's winning loot from the Metro FM Awards earlier this year, a sum rumoured to be in the region of just under R1 million.

The reports also claimed that the artists were left frustrated after Kgosi decided to lock away their Metro FM Award statues in his office. According to a source the pair were so upset by the move that they were considering leaving the music stable if the matter was not resolved.
