Pearl Thusi’s father and Durban taxi boss Bhekizizwe Thusi is reportedly not happy with his daughter’s fiancรฉ Robert Marawa’s family for not paying lobola for her. Thusi is not impressed with Marawa’s family for treating his daughter like a makoti while they have not paid for her lobola, further accusing them of being disrespectful.

Speaking to Daily Sun, he reportedly said he was still waiting for the Marawa family to unite the two families traditionally. He said Pearl only told him about the engagement, but said nothing about when her fiancรฉ would send his uncles to pay for lobola.

In Thusi’s family, lobola must be paid before claiming a woman as their makoti, so for Marawa’s family to do what they are doing only shows that they undermine him as Pearl’s father, he reportedly said.

He further told the publication that he was starting to think perhaps the couple got married without his knowledge.

Marawa’s mother, Phumlile Zulu, told the tabloid that her family was still mourning Marawa’s father’s death and could not be thinking about a wedding.

Pearl shared a series of tweets that left fans wondering if she was referring to the reports about her engagement.

“Some people create a personal hell and want to drag everyone else in it.

“I will not fight with you. I won’t hurt you. Hell is waiting for you. A hell hotter than the blackness of your heart,” she said.

Though the couple has been together for a while now, neither has verbally confirmed their relationship. They only post pictures of each other, with Pearl calling Marawa her Man Crush Everyday.

“Beautiful yet bitter goodbyes … You’re a man a woman thought she could only ever dream of. I love you so much. You’re my calm in every storm,” she said in one of the pictures of the two together.
There is a saying that goes like "Cell phones bring you closer to a person far from you, but it doesn't get you closer to the person you want to sit next to".

Media personality, Pearl Thusi and her bae Robert Marawa are continents separate, they have spent time minus getting close to each other ever since Pearl went to film US Drama series Quantico in New York.

Although she often comes to SA to check people who matter most in her life, Pearl still feels the gap within her heart that she's not with her man.

In a Live facebook session on Wednesday evening, Pearl opened up about missing her friends, family and her fans but above all, she misses her man.

"I miss my fiancรฉ so much, I can't explain it," she said during the session.

Despite missing those close to her, Pearl said that she was learning so much and was happy.

"I'm happy. There's some rough day and some really good days. It's cool. I'm very happy here," Pearl added.

Pearl Thusi jetted into the country for a few short days of quality time with her loved ones.

But the time flew past and Pearl had to leave the country to go back to New York.

Of course it was a sad moment for her bae Robert Marawa, and her daughter who were at the airport to see her off.

Even though it was a bittersweet moment for Pearl, she said working towards a brighter future for her daughter was the only thing that kept her going.

"Looking forward to seeing you again is the only thing that outweighs the sadness of having to leave you in hopes of making our future even brighter."

Pearl also gushed over the support she gets from Robert. "You're a man a woman thought she could only ever dream of. I love you so much. You're my calm in every storm," said.

Pearl Thusi is currently not in the country, although she came in recently to check on people who matter most in her life including her Daughter.

You remember that when the rumours sparked about Pearl and Robert Marawa dating, she denied it and termed the allegations as being false. In just a week, Pearl Thusi has posted four photos of Robert, a clear indication that he misses him.

We all know it that true love is like diarrhea, when you fail to let it out, it will press you until you do. On numerous occasions, Pearl has tried her best to hide his face, post few features of him (sneakers, hands, cap), bits of his profile, but we have always guessed right that the man was Robert. Its until of recent that Pearl Thusi shared an intimate photo with her bae.

Take a look for yourself and you'll see how much Pearl is missing her man.

The actress and TV personality has spent the last few months in America, starring in the US TV series Quantico. The move saw Pearl leave her daughter back in South Africa and the pair have hardly had the chance to see each other since.

So, imagine her daughter's excitement when Pearl decided to show up at her door late one night to surprise her.

Little Thando burst into tears and screams of joy at the sight of her mother. And when Pearl asked her why she was crying, Thando melted our hearts and pierced our souls by whispering "I missed you".

After taking to the stage for her performance at the MAMAs, local music sensation Babes Wodumo was hit with a few negative comments when some fans were not happy with the performance she delivered.

Many of the complaints came from unsatisfied fans, saying that they expected much more from the Wololo singer.

Jumping to the stars defence was Pearl Thusi, who reassured Babes, telling her to “stay focused.”
Pearl Thusi and her bae Robert Marawa have been very secretive about their relationship.

The Quantico star finally made their relationship official for the public, by posting a throwback picture of her and Robert being all loved up.

Of recent The Juice held an interview with one of the Top Mzansi IT GIRLS, Pearl Thusi, during the interview, the following qualities were observed.

1. Genuineness

When asked about how she felt about having her own hashtag #PearlThusi she said, " I can't say that I expected that big of a response. I was hoping for reaction. But more so, I was hoping for people to be excited not just for me but for the future of entertainment. If I can do it you can do it too."

She made special mention of other Africans, and not just her own success, referring to Trevor Noah's recent cover on Time Magazine, calling it "pretty epic" and also her admiration for Lupita Nyong'o victories.

"We can do it! We need to be prepared, ready and have faith."

2. Humility

She has a her own hashtag and an entire country standing behind her. But she explained that she made a conscious decision not to make a big fuss before the show premiered. "I wanted to be with my family, my child and my partner. Now people understand the gravitas."

But she says that she hasn't experienced the "hype" so much in the US and social media is her only indication. "I look forward to coming back home and really feel it!"

"I'm focused on the story I have to tell, improve the industry and make my story meaningful."

3. Clear set of values

When asked how she manages to stay so down to earth, she said, "I don't know!" But then she went on to narrate the most amazing story.

"My humbleness comes from my family." Pearl who was crowned Miss South Africa Teen's first princess in 2003, said, "When I returned home I had all the glory." She jokingly added, "I thought to myself, 'out of all the girls, I was deemed one of the most beautiful.' I was a princess!" But as soon as she walked through the front door, her mother had her do chores and wash the dishes just like everyone else!

She also always tells people, "Don't believe all the hype. Things can change very quickly. She also has a deep love for the people around her, "I appreciate the people around me. My friends, my family and my child treat me like a normal person, but still celebrate me at the same time."

4. Love

When asked what she misses most about home she said, "The three 'f's"

That is: Friends, family and food.

She spoke about how she misses her Knorrox stock cubes and spices from Woolies. "But more than anything I miss face-to-face conversations with my family, hugging my child and simply watching TV with my friends. I miss playing and cuddling my daughter and I miss my pets."

She explained that being alone in a foreign country has really deepened her appreciation for family.

5. Intelligence

What she loves most about her character on Quantico, Dayana Mampasi, is her strength and conviction. "She is an intelligent Harvard graduate, her history is intense and she is learning how to do things on her own"

"Every character gives me the opportunity to be able to do things I never would be able to do in real life."

But this role, isn't just another "fluffy" character. Through this experience, Pearl learned a lot about herself and the history of Africa. And while talking to Pearl we could hear she has such a strong understanding for our country's history and the political landscape.

"I look forward to people seeing a different type of African story."

"Americans have everything and they are very informed about our country, history and our politicians. Even though I sometimes fill them in, they are informed about what's happening in other countries and their own."

"But as South Africans we know a lot about other countries. But not always the history of our own country." Pearl spoke about apartheid and even mentioning presidents from other African countries by name. Something I doubt a lot of people are able to do.

For her role on Quantico she had to do a lot of research about Zimbabwe and through it she hopes viewers will learn more about what it means to be a foreigner or immigrant living in a different country and sees the show as "infotainment".
SA actress Pearl Thusi is one of those celebrities who surely appreciate and understands the Joy of being a mother. Her lovely daughter Thandolwethu Mokoena is celebrating her birthday today.

You know, the relationship between a mother and daughter is one of the strongest and complex bond in the world. It is considered one of the most powerful connections in nature. sometimes mothers are the best friends for the daughters to talk their problems with and sometimes a beautiful smile on his sweet daughter will let father forget all the worries and stress in life.

Pearl's Daughter Thando is counting 9 years today....Ooh!! that's so sweet for pearl to see her girl growing this fast.

It so unfortunate that at the time, Pearl is not in the country, she is currently in the U.S to film for her role on TV series Quantico, but earlier this month she came to check on her daughter.

However, her message to the little one carried cute words that expressed how truly she missed celebrating the day with her. She took to her social media page to share this message:

How were you ever not a part of my life.Exactly 9 years later- you're still my deepest and greatest inspiration. The reason I'm so strong. The station came under fire after introducing a new line-up of presenters, including Somizi Mhlongo and Khanyi Mbau, who took over from Mo Flava and Lerato Kganyago.

As if things couldn’t get worse, it was recently announced that Phat Joe had left the station to join East Coast radio. Joe hosted the Saturday breakfast show alongside Pearl Thusi, who is currently in New York filming a show called Quantico.

Pearl and Joe, who had a huge following, were sometimes controversial. Now their slot is open and there’s no word on who will replace them. And it seems like Pearl is not to bothered.

When a fan mentioned that Saturdays are not the same without the two of them, Pearl replied on Twitter: “It wasn’t worth the trouble for us though… I’m sure they’re doing fine without us.”

Robert and Pearl on Vodacom Durban July
In what can be dubbed as a rare and telling interview Robert Marawa has opened up to Anele Mdoda on Real Talk about his love life.

Even though Robert and TV personality Pearl Thusi have tried for months to keep their romance out of the spotlight, it's somewhat of an open secret.

Over the past two months Robert Marawa and Pearl have found themselves making headlines, after the actress was spotted with some impressive bling on her ring finger.

Anele approached the topic by telling Robert that 'his lady' had told her that "one of her fingers has officially been occupied."

The talk show host went on to add that Robert's lady told her that he proposed in a restaurant, it was very sweet and she's happy.

"I'm sure she wasn't lying because the evidence is there and I'm sure she showed you the evidence," Robert said.

Taking a trip down memory lane Anele asked Robert how he approached Pearl. "It was a strange thing, we first met at a Polo event and I was walking to my car and she was driving, when I introduced myself," Robert said.

He added that they continued to 'walk and talk' until he reached his car and they parted ways without even exchanging numbers.

"Jesus will bring us together one day, if he does," Robert remembered about the encounter.

And much to his surprise it was Pearl who made the next the move.

"I did a tribute show for Senzo Meyiwa and she sent through a message to say 'wow'," Robert recalled.

The sports personality went on to gush over his girl, and how it's not just about her.

"She's like that. So it's no surprise that the person is taking a bite out of The Big Apple."

Actress and TV personality Pearl Thusi is over the moon after her bae decided to visit her in New York.

Pearl is in the city at the moment, filming for her role on US TV series Quantico, and the pair were reunited on Monday afternoon, with an excited Pearl taking to Snapchat to post the good news.

"And 2g (together) again," Pearl wrote in a post of the couple's hands together. In the snap, the couple are both sporting rings, with Pearl wearing the same one that sparked engagement rumours at the SA Music Awards last month.

Pearl later posted a video and a snap of her and her man walking the streets of New York.

Pearl has long been linked to sports personality Robert Marawa even though the pair have been shy to confirm their romance, the couple have been snapped and spotted together on several occasions.

A tabloid report suggests there’s a bit of controversy that Robert Marawa hasn’t actually proposed to his alleged girlfriend.

Weekly tabloid Sunday Sun has added another level of intrigue to the rumours around Pearl Thusi being engaged to her alleged lover, popular sports presenter Robert Marawa.

According to sources the paper spoke to who claim to be Marawa’s friends, it wasn’t Marawa who bought the “shiner” on her ring finger, but Thusi herself.

One source told Sunday Sun that, to him, “it screams desperation” and Thusi was “too hot to be doing that”.

The rumours around the engagement started during the SA Music Awards weekend in June, when Pearl was photographed flashing a shiny piece of jewellery on her ring finger. The bling immediately caught red carpet correspondent Minnie Dlamini’s eye, who quizzed the actress/model/presenter about this while interviewing her for E! Beyond The Red Carpet.

“Somebody special may have decided that I needed a special type of jewellery,” she replied.

Although the picture is a little blurry, you can clearly see the bling on the TV personality’s left ring finger.

Marawa’s friends were apparently “disgusted” that the beautiful Lip Sync Battle Africa host would “stoop as low as buying herself a ring claiming she’s engaged to the sports presenter”, they told Sunday Sun.

Hilariously, they are also apparently calling the ring “such a small little thing”, and that Marawa would never be such a cheapskate in the jewellery stakes.

Apparently Marawa told them that although he was in love with Thusi, he was “not ready to commit”.

The couple have been seen being intimate in public together, but neither has actually confirmed being in a relationship, reportedly because of how private Marawa is.

Marawa supposedly told his friends that he understood her purchase of the ring to be a ploy to “create hype for her brand or to chase other guys away”, according to the one source the tabloid spoke to.

Neither Pearl nor Robert were willing to officially comment on their “engagement” or where the “ring rumours” came from, but Pearl once again alluded to their relationship on Phat Joe’s Metro FM show on Saturday when she confirmed that her love interest was “a tall, handsome man who knows a lot about sports”.

The soft-spoken Robert Marawa wants more confetti for his alleged girlfriend’s achievements.

‘Madluphuthu’ doesn’t like it when Mzansi is not celebrating Pearl Thusi enough. This on the back of Pearl announcing that she’s moving to a new city for a new job and is on the cover of a magazine.

Thusi has moved to New York to shoot for the second season of US drama series, Quantico and will be starring alongside Priyanka Chopra. Not just that, she is also on the cover of Cosmopolitan’s August issue.

The fact that Pearl trended on social media for her achievements was not enough for Marawa, who took to Twitter to slam ‘some papers’ who he anticipated will ‘ignore’ Pearl’s achievements.

Robert himself congratulated Pearl, modestly calling her ‘Miss Thusi’. Still, that doesn’t make us forget that rock on Pearl’s finger, Rob.

Robert and Pearl are yet to confirm their relationship. On their rumoured engagement, Vanessa Marawa, Rob’s sister had this to say: ‘If the rumours are true, I am really happy for them, they are both great people. And if they are not true, I think they should look into it.’
Everybody wants a piece of Pearl Thusi, but not everyone’s wish will come true.

This truth iFani learnt over the weekend when he innocently expressed a wish for a lip sync with Pearl’s sultry lips:

Pearl must have put something in the water, what with a hit song dedicated to her and now a request for a kiss coming her way.

Well, at least the Lip Sync Battle Africa co-host dances to Emtee’s hit song about her, but for iFani, Pearl could only pop eyes out as a response to his request:

Our TV Personality and Actress, Pearl Thusi surely has a perfect and hot body that is worth flaunting. The Lip Sync Battle Africa co-host has those 'hot legs' that leave most men dying to have a piece of her and most galz getting envious. Rapper Emtee couldn't contain the beauty that's why he decided to throw hit song about her.

In most cases when Pearl puts on cheeky pants, she throws the crowd into a frenzy state and when she twerks, the throng chants  #Hashtag Hot Thighs!

We compiled some of her photo while she was rocking in some revealing Denim shorts.

Yes She's Zulu and Yellow

Awww... isn't it cute that Pearl Thusi and Robert Marawa are still acting like they're not together?

We think it's even cuter when they act like they don't even know each other.

The lovebirds, who are yet to confirm their relationship, had the pleasure of "meeting" over the weekend on SuperSport's Ala Carte.
Pearl shared a short video on her Instagram page. In the clip, Pearl told Robert: "I finally get to meet you, I have heard so much about you from the papers."
It seems like Pearl Thusi may have just weighed in on that explosive AKA rant, seemingly shading the rapper in a series of tweets.

AKA and Pearl's spicy rivalry isn't news, with the pair trading blows on social media several times in the past.

But just hours after AKA took to Twitter to launch into an explosive rant aimed at DJ Zinhle, Pearl weighed in with her own views- most of them seemingly aimed at AKA.

Pearl first responded to fans requests for her to come out in support of the under-fire Zinhle, by saying that Zinhle was a big girl and at peace.

Before deciding that she actually would like to have a little fun with the situation, posting several images of Bruce Lee - A name that AKA had referred to her mockingly as, in a previous Twitter feud.

Finally, she went in for the kill with an explosive tweet.

Pearl later deleted her tweets. But not before AKA had a chance to respond.
The three popular TV and Radio personalities, Pearl Thusi, Boity Thulo and DJ zinhle over the weekend had precious times to share together and they bubbled with such enthusiasm.

Boity and Pearl shared photos of their birthday celebration as they launched their movie on Friday in Sandton titled "#TheGoldenHeist". Remember pearl thusi had initially celebrated her 28th birthday last week also.

Mzansi "It Girl", TV and Radio personality Pearl Thusi, will be taking on new hosting roles. This time its on quiet a lower platform not the usual platforms that we are used to seeing her.
