THE only sounds heard in the halls of Arc of Peace Ministries Church in Tembisa, Ekurheleni, yesterday was a few crickets scurrying about.

This is because apostle Andile Sitya (38) has been camping at prophet Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng’s church in Katlehong since Friday, waiting for the Sunday service.

The famous apostle said he had problems and after he failed to heal himself, he finally turned to someone he knew could help.

“I wanted Mboro to pray for me. I knew he would help me,” he said.

And indeed he was prayed for and got the healing he needed.

Sitya suffered from what he described as a pain in his stomach that felt like rats and snakes moving inside him.

“I first felt the movement in my stomach two years ago,” he said.

Sitya said since then he’d done everything he could as a healer to heal himself.

“I’ve been to several doctors and hospitals. Every doctor I’ve seen tells me there’s nothing wrong with me.

“I lost my job to this problem. Twice every month the thing inside starts moving violently and the pains become unbearable.”

The apostle added that he prayed for people in trains and healed them at his church, but that he was unable to help himself.

Prophet Mboro said people were not islands.

“We all need help at some point. Even the biggest and most powerful prophets, pastors and apostles will need help from someone at some point,” he said.

“When the prophet prayed, I felt a great fire burning in my stomach,” said the apostle.

“As he prayed, I could feel the anointing and healing. Now I feel fine. I don’t feel even the slightest of movement in my stomach. I want to thank the prophet,” he said.

The former boyfriend of a teacher accused of having sex with a 16-year-old in an aircraft toilet told a court on Wednesday that their sex life at the time could not have been worse.

Eleanor Wilson, 29, is accused of having unprotected intercourse with the pupil on the British Airways flight home from a school trip to Swaziland.

The encounter is alleged to have led to Wilson becoming pregnant, Bristol Crown Court has heard.


The physics teacher broke the news to the pupil a month later, and said she had booked an abortion. Wilson’s ex-boyfriend Andrew Hall said he was having sex with her once every six months at the time, meaning it was highly unlikely the child was his.

Jurors were told the key stage 4 teacher was eight weeks pregnant when she rang her doctor on September 10, 2015. She had an abortion a fortnight later.

Mr Hall told the court he knew nothing of this until a detective investigating the allegations against her broke the news to him in December 2017.

Wilson’s defence barrister had suggested the unborn baby was his, and not the boy’s.

Giving evidence yesterday, Mr Hall said he broke up with Wilson in July 2016 because their relationship had become dysfunctional and aggressive.

He added: ‘In the last 18 months of our relationship we very rarely had intercourse and we never had unprotected intercourse. It would be incredibly unlikely for her to get pregnant. We were having sex every six months. Our sex life couldn’t have got worse.’

Mr Hall said he knew Wilson had been dismissed from her unnamed Bristol secondary school in May 2016, but he had no idea her dismissal was linked to an alleged affair with a student.

It also emerged that Wilson exchanged 339 texts, calls and multimedia messages with the pupil when she was still seeing Mr Hall – most were deleted before police could retrieve them.

In his evidence, Mr Hall recalled the day that Wilson was collected from an abortion clinic by a colleague. He said she had told him that she was suffering from bleeding and had gone to have a ‘blockage’ removed.

The first he heard about her alleged affair with a schoolboy was in June last year, when the outcome of her teacher disciplinary hearing was reported by the national press. Mr Hall said: ‘She suggested it had all been blown up by the media. It made me very upset. It demonstrated that she had been dishonest with me on more than one occasion.’

The court also heard a written statement from the father of the pupil, who cannot be identified for legal reasons.

He said ‘alarm bells’ rang when his son started meeting Wilson after the trip to Swaziland – once after lunch at a Nando’s, and twice during day trips to Tintern Abbey in South Wales and Ashton Court Estate in Bristol. His wife, the teenager’s step-mother, described Wilson as ‘fluffy and possibly a bit immature’.

She said she thought it odd that her son had come off the flight from Johannesburg with his clothes stained with red wine.

Wilson, of Dursley, Gloucestershire, denies four charges of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust between August and September 2015.

In what is believed to be the first in the world, researchers at Wits University have transplanted a liver from an HIV positive mother to her HIV negative child. 

The child, who at the time of the transplant was 13-months-old, and her mother cannot be identified as part of doctor-patient privacy. 

Doctors at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre said the child had Biliary Atresia and needed a liver transplant. 

As a result of a shortage of donated organs, the child who was critically ill couldn’t not receive one. 

The mother volunteered to donate the liver. 

“Two aspects of this case are unique. Firstly, it involved intentional donation of an organ from a living HIV positive individual. Secondly, pre-exposure prophylaxis [medication to protect at-risk individuals from contracting the HI virus] in the child who received the organ may have prevented the transmission of HIV. 

However, we will only know this conclusively over time,” said Jean Botha, Director of Transplantation at the Transplant Unit at the Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre.

He said going into the transplant they believed the child would be HIV positive. But now, a year after the transplant and numerous tests later, doctors have not been able to find any active HIV infection in the child’s blood stream. 

The baby is currently on ARVs and the doctors are still debating whether to remove the child from the treatment or not. 

“At the moment, we are developing new methods for testing the child, and we hope to be able to have a definitive answer to the question of seroconversion in future.  For now the child will remain on ART until we have a more comprehensive picture,” said Professor Caroline Tiemessen, Researcher Professor at the Wits School of Pathology.

The police in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, are looking for a man in connection with an attempted kidnapping in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain. 

Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said the Mitchells Plain Family Violence Child Protection Sexual Offences unit (FCS) was seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the person depicted in the picture below.

"On Wednesday 2018-09-05 at about 14:30 the complainant, a 10-year-old boy reported that the school was out and he was coming out past the school gate when he a saw a white motor vehicle  standing in front of the school. An unknown male called him saying 'get into the car now'. 

"The boy became afraid and ran back into the school premises. The registration of the vehicle was false. Police are investigating a case of attempted kidnapping.
"The suspect, who is unknown, is described as being a black male with a dark complexion. He has a scar on his right check. The suspect is of slender build. He is estimated to be about 30 years old," Van Wyk said. 

"Anyone with information about the incident is kindly requested to contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant Ofiicer Paul Wolmarans of Mitchells Plain Family Violence Child Protection  Sexual Offences unit(FCS) at 081 283  0007."

Five people, including two toddlers, died when a lorry collided head-on with a car they were traveling in at Mochadi village, Nebo on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.

 ''During this accident, one passenger from the sedan survived with serious injuries and five other occupants including the driver, died instantly.The deceased are three adults and two toddlers. The eight passengers who were transported in a truck including the driver, sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for medical treatment,'' said spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

 The cause of the accident is not yet known. A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.

 The accident follows another fatal crash on Tuesday where three people died. 

 Police said the deceased were travelling in a sedan that collided head-on with a truck along the N1 highway. 

 The deceased members of a Pretoria church were identified as Phiringu Jasper James, aged 26, Beston Khabarovsk, 30 and Brain Grant, aged 26.

Tanzanian police said on Wednesday they had arrested 12 men, including two South Africans and a Ugandan, for presumed homosexuality as part of an ongoing crackdown against gays.

"We arrested the criminals at (the hotel) Peacock - they were promoting homosexuality. Two are South Africans, one Ugandan and nine Tanzanians," Dar es Salaam police head Lazaro Mambosasa said at a weekly press conference.

He said the 12 were being questioned ahead of being sent before a court and did not say when they had been arrested.

"Tanzanian law forbids this act between people of the same sex, it is a violation of our country's laws," said Mambosasa. He added the hotel manager was among those arrested for "providing a room" for the others.

Mambosasa urged citizens to notify authorities if they caught wind of such activities "so we can act in time".

Police made 20 arrests - eight men and 12 women - on similar grounds on Tanzania's semi-autonomous archipelago Zanzibar last month.

According to police, those arrests took place in a hotel where the group were undergoing training with an officially-registered international NGO, the Bridge Initiative, which works in Aids awareness.

In February, Tanzania earned criticism notably from the United States after announcing the closure of several health centres specialising in Aids prevention, alleging they were fronts for promoting homosexuality.

The Dar es Salaam government also vowed to deport foreigners campaigning for gay rights.

Gay male sex is punishable by anything from 30 years to life imprisonment under Tanzanian law. There is no such ban on lesbian relations.

According to Amnesty International, homosexuality is illegal in 38 of 54 African states and is punishable by death in Mauritania, Somalia and Sudan.

A Pretoria mother who lost both her children in the space of two days cried out to God at their funeral, asking him why he had taken both her children at once.

“God, why did you have to take both my children? “I know you are God and I know you are a good God and you are my God, but why did you have to take my children, my happiness? “What have I done so wrong that you had to take all my children?” an inconsolable Veronica Khambule cried out during the home funeral service.

She and her husband, Derick, buried their babies, Princess and Prince Khambule, on Saturday morning.

Derick Khambule cried quietly as he kept his eyes on his children’s little white coffins standing next to each other in Veronica’s sister’s house.

On each coffin was a burning candle with two little blankets in a black plastic bag next to the coffins on the floor.

The blankets were later draped over the coffins before they were lowered into the grave that the siblings, who never even met each other, are now sharing.

There was not a dry eye on Saturday morning as mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters of the community of Nantes in Eersterust cried together.

Ten-month-old Princess died last Monday in Steve Biko Hospital and her little brother, Prince, died the following morning, less than an hour after he was born in Mamelodi Hospital, east of Pretoria.

Prince was born with a broken leg and his heart was on the opposite side of his chest.

Derick Khambule had to register the birth of his son and the deaths of both his children on the same day.

Princess suffered serious head injuries when a bakkie driven by an allegedly drunk man ploughed through her parents’ shack and landed on the bed where she was sleeping between them in July.

Derick managed to keep Princess alive by continually resuscitating her all the way to the hospital.

She had undergone five operations since the incident, but subsequently died last Monday morning. The driver of the bakkie, Murefi Chinyungurwa, 34, was recently denied bail.

He faces charges of drunken driving and culpable homicide.

United Pentecostal Church pastor Vilensky Meyer tried to console the Khambules, saying that on the other side of the grave there is grace.

A 19-year-old pregnant schoolgirl was gunned down in Xikundu village in Malumelela‚ Limpopo‚ police said on Thursday.

The incident happened on Wednesday evening‚ said Lieutenant-Colonel Moatshe’ Ngoepe.

“It is alleged that the deceased was attacked at her home by unknown suspects who broke into the house and shot her several times before fleeing the scene.

“The deceased’s mother managed to escape from the house unhurt‚” said Ngoepe.

“The deceased is identified as Nare Beanice Malebana‚ who was a Grade 12 learner at Jim Chavani High School at Xikundu village.”

Malebana was six months pregnant.

The motive for her murder was still unclear.

Ngoepe said a manhunt had been launched for the killers.

One of her friends took to Facebook to pay tribute to her.

“May her soul rest in peace and may the Lord be with her and her family‚” wrote Hlayisani Lateshia.

“She was a wonderful girl who was friendly and loveable‚ what a good‚ good girl she was. Girl‚ I and the rest of your church will miss that beautiful voice of yours.”

A woman from Evaton West, in Johannesburg, has retold how she survived death after her friend’s boyfriend knocked them down with his car twice before he ultimately killed her friend, Nosi Mahlangu, 29, Sedibeng Ster reports.

The incident allegedly took place in an open veld next to Wilberforce Community College. Leah Mpembe, 29, said Sandile Stabathaba had asked both her and his girlfriend Nosi Mahlangu to accompany him to his home in Lakeside.

“On our way back, Sandile asked the two of us to go and pull a rope in the front of the car, as the car was giving him problems. That is when he hit the two of us with the car. I helped Nosi get up, and we ran, but he drove into us the second time.

“Nosi and I got up again, and we decided to run separate ways. Sandile chased Nosi, and hit her again with the car. When she was lying on the ground, he got out of the car, stabbed and stoned her.”

Mpembe says Mahlangu died shortly after Sandile fled the scene. Sandile allegedly committed suicide following the incident.

It has been reported that a 23-year-old man lost a good portion of his tongue to a 38-year-old woman he tried to rape. According to Free State SAPS (South African Police Service), the man had to let the woman go. He rushed to a hospital to fix his damaged tongue and was subsequently arrested. After the man was arrested, he was dragged to Reitz Magistrate’s Court for the crime and is currently behind bars. In a statement, police confirmed that the victim bit off the rapist’s tongue.

South African Police Service (SAPS) has arrested a 23-year-old man for raping his 58-year-old mother. As learnt, the man raped his mum at her home in Ekuthuleni locality, Elliot on 3rd July 2017. After the horrendous act, he fled the area and couldn’t be traced. It was on Monday, 10th July 2017 that members of the taxi association identified the suspect. They arrested him and handed him to the SAPS. Confirming this incident, Col Gezani thanked the community noting that the incident has illustrated that strong partnership between local community members and the SAPS is of inestimable value to the fight against crime.

The barbarity of rape crimes in South Africa was probably exhibited in the vehement desire to find a cure for HIV/AID. HIV-positive men in South Africa raped many infants. Somehow, it was widely believed that having sex with a virgin girl will cure HIV/AIDS. History will remember this horror as the virgin cleansing myth

Disregarding the unbelievable and shocking reason for raping infants, rape in South Africa has always been brutal and cruel.

The Mdantsane Regional Court has sentenced Siphelo Melfin to 20 years behind the bar for murdering his 5-year-old stepdaughter. Nosikhumbuzo Mabusela, the mother of the girl also bagged three years’ imprisonment for defeating the ends of justice. The sentences will run concurrently.

The 5-year-old drew her last breath in June 2016 after she was assaulted by her stepfather Siphelo (32) for soiling herself. Siphelo Melfin was with Mabusela when he noticed that the girl [Kungawo] had soiled herself. He became angry and began to beat her. Kungawo was badly beaten until she became unconscious and died. She was immediately wrapped up in a blanket by her stepfather, who took secretly buried her in her 76-year-old step grandmother’s garden. They kept the incident to themselves but only told Siphelo’s mother, who advised them not to let the cat out the bag. However, the crime came to light a month later when the police were alerted. They came and found the body of the 5-year-old lying in a shallow grave in Potsdam.

In her judgment, Magistrate Bulelwa Gixana described the crime as gruesome. She added: “A child soiling herself is part of growing up and can’t be her signing her own death warrant. She died a gruesome death at the hands of the people who were supposed to love and nurture her. I can just imagine her screams and million apologies she made and the extreme pain she was in before she died at such a tender age. In my opinion that was cruelty at its worst. More heinous was the fact that you tried to hide your gruesome act. Had it not been for the vigilance of the community members and neighbours, you would have got away with murder.” After the sentence was handed down the couple stood in the dock emotionless. There were no family members in the courtroom. Siphelo Melfin worked as a security guard with a monthly salary of R3500.

Port Elizabeth National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Tsepo Ndwalaza also confirmed the sentencing. Meanwhile, Mabusela other two children ( eight and eleven) have since been taken to a place of safety.

A woman has admitted to 26 count charge of s3xual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 and 5, as well as for using a child under the age of 14 to make abusive material

The vile mum could face life imprisonment for filming herself s3xually and indecently assaulting her three young children and uploading the images to a paedophile site.

She also pleaded guilty to five counts of inciting an indecent act on a person under the age of 16 and knowing it was being filmed, and another five counts of producing or disseminating child abuse or material.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, the woman was charged after an international hunt to identify an abused child captured on a paedophile website.

Her mother from Newcastle, Sydney was arrested after the video cropped on a site being watched by Interpol and she was identified by her accent.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons because it would identify her children, appeared in Newcastle Local Court via video link from jail last week.

A NSW police statement said, “A large number of those people arrested and charged with child exploitation offences in NSW have been targeted after information was provided to the NSW Police Force by other agencies.

“Likewise, offenders have been arrested and charged in other jurisdictions, including overseas, after being detected and identified by online covert operations run by the NSW Police Force.

“While the internet creates many opportunities for child predators to target children and connect with other offenders, it also presents opportunities for police to detect and target them.”

Pastor Penuel Mnguni of the End Times Disciples Ministries in Soshanguve, Pretoria, visited TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of all Nations in Nigeria on Sunday and explained why he had fed his congregants live snakes.

Mnguni made headlines in 2015 after feeding his congregants live snakes, live rats, underwear and their own hair. He also put one of them in a freezer for more than 30 minutes, trampled and jumped on them, drove a car over them, and placed big speakers on them. He also rode on one of his members as if he was on a horse.

His demonstrations landed him in hot water with the SPCA, which ended up opening a case against him. He was arrested, and later released.

Speaking to TB Joshua at his church, Mnguni, who described himself as an “overseer” of his church, said he had misinterpreted the Bible and did what he thought was scriptural at the time.

It was after watching TB Joshua on TV that realised what he was doing was wrong. He said he went to Nigeria to seek deliverance from the prophet.

He said: “My name is pastor Penuel Mnguni from South Africa, a general overseer of End Time Disciples Ministry based in South Africa. I am known as ‘snake pastor’. I’m popularly known as the ‘snakes pastor’ due to the demonstration that took place in my ministry when I gave live snakes to my congregants to eat.

“It started when I was teaching the word of God, Mark 16: 16 – 18, where it says: ‘he that believes in me, these signs shall follow them; they shall pick up snakes, they will even drink deadly poison and it shall not harm them. And also Romans 14, where it says to those who believe, to those who have a strong faith, they can eat anything. And to those who have weak faith, they can only eat vegetables.

“After my message, I demonstrated and I gave them snakes, live snakes, to eat. After that, the media all over the world, all the newspapers in South Africa, even outside the country, they were running after me, following me everywhere, even the government was attacking me.

“SPCA opened a case against me, I was arrested then I was released. I came to realise that what I was doing was not written in the bible.


“I started watching Emmanuel TV, listening to prophet TB Joshua, I came to realise that what I was doing was not scriptural. I came to realise that It’s an attack. I came to TB Joshua to deliver me.”

My name is Nkechi . I live at Obollo Afor in Udenu LGA of Enugu State with my father. For security reason, I may want to hide some other details as I do not want my father to be arrested. All I need are good words on how to get myself out of what my father dragged me into.

My mother died 10 years ago and since then, father has not remarried. Many have ignorantly commended him for having endured for this long. But the truth is that he has practically turned me to his wife. I had tried very hard to make him see reason why he should stop the sacrilegious act of sleeping with me, but he was adamant.

It all started few months before I gained admission into UNN to study Mass Communication. While I was preparing to leave the house, my father who is a popular businessman walked up to me in my room and handed me an envelope containing my school fees and other things that I had requested. I excitedly embraced dad who held unto me for a very long time. I managed to pull myself off his arms. It is difficult to say exactly what daddy told me, but it was obvious that he wanted to have me on bed.

That same night, the thought of daddy’s advances kept ringing on my head, and just as I was thinking, daddy came into my bedroom, forced me on bed. My elder brother was around but had no idea as it was too much an embarrassment to shout over what daddy was doing to me. Of course, he succeeded, and I left home the next money to Nsukka.

The summary is that since then, daddy has made it a culture to visit me in school. Even though I refused to show him where was staying initially, he said he was only looking for the place to apologize. Unfortunately, that marked the beginning of constant and continued s3xual relationship between daddy and me.

I’m done with my studies, yet we can’t stop having s3x. I think I now enjoy having s3x with my father.

A Durbanite woman’s nap was interrupted by a black mamba that she woke up to see slithering around her bed in her Westville home in Durban.

According to Nick Evans of the KwaZulu-Natal Amphibian and Reptile Conservation organisation on his Facebook page, he received a call he had been waiting for a very long time – catching a mamba.

“At first, I assumed it was just a brown house Snake, like what often happens to be the case. But then she said it was 3-4 metres long. No house snake gets that big!” said Nick.

“The woman explained that she had just woken up from a nap when she heard something moving next to her bed. That’s when she spotted this large black mamba, right next to her bed! It moved towards the foot of the bed, and was trying to get behind some drawers. Feeling terrified, and wanting to get out of the room to call for help, she used her duvet as a shield, and walked past the mamba! I was somewhat shocked to hear that at first, but when I thought about it, it was actually quite a good idea,” said Nick.

Entering the room with care, Nick had realised it had a lot of items stored, giving the mamba better hiding places.

Eventually he saw the cupboard door ajar and instantly knew it was there.

“I used tongs to secure its head then picked it up with my hands. He was trying to hide behind the clothes, getting a little bit cheeky and opened the mouth to show the black inside as a warning, but the poor thing was terrified and just wanted to be left alone. I had it secured, with my heart racing, and with a big smile on my face!” says Evans.

“I became very intrigued by this peculiar sighting. I mean, how often do you see a 2-metre-plus Black Mamba hiding in a cupboard? It was a first for me! I invited my grandpa over to come and see, and the woman’s sister though lady who had called said she had seen enough of it.

A police officer and a State advocate have slammed the circulating of pictures of a man purported to be the killer of Karabo Mokoena as illegal.

This comes after the young woman was confirmed dead by Tshepo Mokoena, who said he was Karabo's father, adding that it was his daughter's boyfriend who had killed and burnt her.

Immediately afterwards, some people started posting picture of the man they said was Karabo's boyfriend and her killer and asking others to circulate that picture.

However, a state advocate, who asked to remain anonymous, told The Star that circulating the picture of the man was illegal and amounted to "gross defamation".

"But, now, the question is: who was the first person to publish the gentleman’s picture? Yes, everyone is in trouble for sharing this post as well. But the problem will be getting all those people in court – this will be a challenge. The best thing to do, in my view, will be to leave all the others who are sharing these pictures and focus on the original source who published the picture,” the expert said.


Her comments were echoed by police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo, who said that no one had been arrested or appeared in court for the alleged murder and, therefore, it was illegal to keep sharing the picture.

Masondo confirmed that the police were looking into Karabo's case.
However, he did not want to confirm if they were investigating a kidnapping or murder case.

Karabo Mokoena, a young woman who went missing two weeks ago, has been found dead, according to her father, Tshepo Mokoena. Her friend, Stephanie Long, had been posting Karabo’s pictures on social media, asking for people to help her find her friend.

“My friend has been missing since about April 28. If you have seen her please let me know,” reads the message that has been circulating on social media with Karabo’s picture.

After days of searching for her, her father Tshepo confirmed on Facebook that his daughter had been found dead and her body burnt. He alleged that someone close to his daughter confessed to him that they had killed Karabo and burnt her body.

On Thursday morning, Stephanie again took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news.

“I posted this on the morning of the 29th not realising that you were taken from me a few hours before. I loved you, you were more than a friend to me. I’m heart broken, how could they take u away from me RIP KayFab,” she wrote.


According to Long, the accused in Karabo’s murder has been arrested.

Condolences have been pouring in since, with the hashtag #RIPKarabo trending on Twitter.
