Babes Wodumo asks KZN fans to chuck out Hlaudi’s #HandsOff90%Content

Gqom sensation Babes Wodumo has urged her KZN fans to help artists stand up against the SABC's decision to scrap out Hlaudi Motsoeneng's 90 percent local content rule. 

Durban. KZN. South Africa. We NEED YOU. The new SABC board has made it clear that it wants to remove the 90% Local content Quota. This is a direct assault and insult to South African artistry and it affects everyone. As South African entertainers in various sectors, we want to make it clear that we do not want to be made part n parcel of internal Politics at the SABC & We do not support the overloading of Western music/soapies/movies/TV shows and more on our media platforms. Which leader in his rightful mind would favor an American artist to take all the money and leave his own people that HE/SHE represents to starve. This makes absolutely NO sense. The SABC needs to sit down and find alternative solutions to their problems without compromising us. If we do not get support and airplay in our own Country where else are we expected to get support from? Please join us on the 11th of May as we collectively say #HandsOf90Percent and March to The SABC. For those of you who may not know, the newly elected SABC interim board has decided to scrap out former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s 90 percent local content rule across all SABC platforms, because it is not bringing any revenue for the media organization.

Babes Wodumo went on to say this is an insult to all South African viewers and calls for all South Africans to march to the  KZN SABC studios on 11 May 2017. Babes Wodumo wasn’t the only one who took to Instagram to call on for support. West Ink President, Mampintsha also posted on his Instagram urging fans to support.
