According to Sunday World, Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates defender Jimmy Tau suffered an embarrassing shibobo when he was swindled out of R2-million, allegedly by a prominent businesswoman.

Tau, who owns an investment company called Jimmy Tau Inc, opened a case of fraud in December alleging that well-known businesswoman Stella Buthelezi took money from him in return for a shareholding in a new business venture, but disappeared into thin air.

Hawks spokeswoman Carol Molamu confirmed Tau opened a case and said investigations were at an advanced stage.

The publication further reports that Tau, who ventured into business after he hung up his soccer boots in 2013 and made millions from government tenders, said he was in a meeting when contacted for comment.

In response to Tau’s case, Buthelezi said Tau had no interest in following up on the financial affairs of the company he had invested in. She said he had failed to prove any money was due to him as no agreements had been reached regarding the company.

“Mr Tau did not attempt to follow due processes and procedures when  demanding that the R2 million be repaid to him,” said Buthelezi.

Remember, the star is also alleged to have ended his relationship with Manonga after paying R200 000 lobola for her last year in July.

Manonga is the ex-girlfriend of Tau's former Chiefs teammate George Lebese. She started seeing Tau after a public and violent break-up with Lebese. She is now rumoured to be dating one of the Major League DJ twins.
