Following reports that Masasa Mbangeni has been cast to play a new role on Thola - an SABC 2 story inspired by a play called the Ideal Husband - the actress has confirmed to TMG Entertainment that she hasn't officially joined the cast of the drama series.
Although Masasa has been spotted on the set of Thola, TMG Entertainment understands that she has been working behind-the-scenes of the show, and helping to carry out production duties.
Meanwhile, Masasa revealed that she's currently featured in the Children's Monologue - a massive fund raising campaign staged by celebrity actors in the UK to raise money for South African children - alongside high-profile local thespians such as Robert Whitehead, Jamie Bartlett and Sello Maake Ka Ncube.
Dubbed, 'a dramatic evening for Dramatic Need', the show is being staged by the Market Theatre’s artistic director James Ngcobo and Mfundi Vundla, who has a long standing relationship with Dramatic Need as Executive Producer.
