Emtee is in the news again. The multi award winning rapper is this time being blamed for not showing up for a show after being paid R28 000 for it.
Now event organiser Victor Zwane wants his money back. Victor of Solid Groundz Musiq said he had organised a performance by Emtee, DJ City Lyts, B3nchMarQ and Miss Pru for Sunday afternoon. All the artists are from the Ambitiouz Entertainment stable.
But they didn’t arrive at the event despite being paid in advance. The four were billed to perform at Scrapyard Lounge in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
Now Victor wants his R28 000 back and the costs incurred. He is also demanding an apology from the stable, as well as a free concert for all the fans who paid to see the artists. Victor said what’s even worse was that the artists kept lying to him that they were on their way to the event.
“We called Emtee and his manager BC, but both their phones were off.”
Victor said eventually they got hold of Emtee at about midnight.
“He told me that his car had a puncture while he was on his way to the event. I had to apologise to the fans on their behalf but they were not happy. They started throwing bottles at us and damaged the venue.” Kgosi Mahumapelo, founder of Ambitiouz, said they had an event in Lesotho and were involved in a crash on their way back to Mzansi.
“We phoned Victor to explain our situation, but we were told the venue closed at 11pm. We told Victor that we would make it up to him with a free show this coming Sunday.”
