Prolific South African names including EFF leader Julius Malema, songstress Kelly Khumalo and TV personality Somizi Mhlongo gathered on Tuesday afternoon for the memorial service of the late Koyo Bala.

The memorial service took place at Baseline in Newton, Johannesburg.
Other big names at the memorial service included Amstel Maboa, Babalwa Mneno,  Dr Malinga, Dj Malwela, Paul Modjadji, Nthato Mashishi, and Iko Mash.
Malema commended Bala for living his life to the fullest and not being "pretentious" during the service.
Bala, the member of openly gay singing trio 3Sum, passed away over a week ago following a long battle with cancer.
The 37-year-old star will be laid to rest at the Ottery Grave Yard in Cape Town, while the funeral service will be held in Gugulethu Sports Complex on Saturday, 19 March 2016
