SINGER Lungi Naidoo is gearing up for the release of her third studio album.
The acclaimed songwriter said 2016 started off on a good note.
This after the success of DJ Black Coffee’s song Love and Fire in which she features.
“I’ve been to hell and back and when DJ Black Coffee tweeted me to say he’s in the country and we must go into the studio, I was so excited.
“I had initially approached him to feature on my second album, but it never happened.
“When he made the move, I knew the universe was aligning itself to help me with a comeback,” Lungi said.
She’s known for her distinct R&B sound and said she’s grown and diversified as a singer and her third album will be testament to this.
“With every situation and challenge in life comes beautiful music. I have material for days and I’m excited to see who I’ll be working with to reach new markets,” she said.
Lungi said through her ordeals she’s learnt that when life throws lemons at you, you need to make lemonade.
“I’m better now because I can talk about my hardships from a place of peace,” she said.
Lungi credits music and writing lyrics for being her life savers.
“It feels good to be back on stage, performing. Life happens and we don’t always have to hold on to bad things that happen to us.
“I’m living proof that behind every dark cloud the sun shines.
“May God bless DJ Black Coffee because he gave me a chance. Now I have amazing opportunities,” she said.
Some of Lungi’s hit songs include the track Love.
She’s also a Metro FM Award nominee.
