Social media was flooded with comments after fake news sites claimed that the actor’s widow was expecting his baby and a video of an ultrasound started doing the rounds.
However, Dumi’s brother, Mbongeni, lashed out at the claims while speaking to TshisaLIVE, labelling them “outrageous”.
“I don’t want to respond to nonsense said about Dumi. It [the rumour] is ridiculous and not at all true. It is outrageous. If it was true we would know about it and we know nothing,” Mbongeni said.
He added that the family were still trying to come to terms with Dumi’s death and would not entertain these fake rumours
“We don’t pay attention to what is being said about Dumi on social media, especially when they are rumours. We don’t speak in rumours, we knew Dumi and we know what it true and what is not,” he said.
This is not the first time that the late actor has been the target of fake reports. Two weeks ago social media was set abuzz after claims surrounding Dumi’s salary emerged. It was also claimed that he had a “deadly illness”, as well as “relationship problems”.
Dumi was shot and killed during a botched hijacking in Tembisa on 2 August.
