Radio and TV sports presenter Robert Marawa spent three nights in two different hospitals this week reports Sunday World.

The admission to both Sandton and Morningside medical clinics sums up one dramatic week for Marawa after he was fired by the SABC on Wednesday.

The publication further reports that the presenter was admitted to Mediclinic Sandton on Tuesday and was transferred to Mediclinic Morningside on Thursday.

He was then discharged on Friday morning.

Marawa said he was admitted for routine check-ups since he had a heart attack incident nine years ago.

“Since my 2008 heart attack, I have my regular check-ups … this time we did a thorough one with a new cardiologist with better facilities at Morningside. All is well until my next check-up next year,” he said.

Sunday Sun reports that Marawa is already in talks with Touch HD to join the online radio station. An insider said they had spotted Marawa at the offices and a deal was being finalised.

“I think final talks will be held on Tuesday. Robert is an asset and they are going all out to get him. They’d rather break the bank to get him. He is in other talks with stations that fall outside the SABC, but that market doesn’t appeal to him,” the source said.
