Fans have been wondering about Sol's whereabouts for a few days now as he has been missing in action since Monday.
Instead of Sol letting listeners in on his 'new career' Fresh and the team pulled a pr stunt and made the announcement.
Sol was last year suspended from the station for making 'insensitive' comments about the murder of the Van Breda family in Stellenbosch. It's understood he was suspended this year but the circumstances around that are not known.
Former Good Hope FM presenter Sibs Matiyela has been brought in to replace Sol on the morning show.
Besides his role on DJ Fresh's morning show, Sol also hosted a weekend late-night slot on the station, entitled S.O.S which now will be replaced with DJ Llyod's The House Connect this week.
