Speaking to YOU, the Top Billing presenter said that he's always had a "soft spot" for Bonang.

"I've always had a soft spot for Bonang. From the get-go, she's had my back," he told the local publication.

He pointed out that she's loved and hated by many because she has become so successful in her career.

"She's misunderstood, I think, but if you're doing something right, people are going to hate you and love you - so I dig her."

Bonang recently felt the heat of Twitter when angry Metro FM listeners accused her of "double standards" and a colonised mind, after she asked one listener to speak English during her radio show this week.

A fan immediately took to Twitter after the incident to ask Bonang why callers to the show should be required to speak English, only to be told by Bonang that "Metro FM is an English station".

But it seems that explanation didn't sit well with many of her followers who took to the social media site to accuse B of having double standards.
