In an interview with DRUM, Ayanda recalled how she and her husband, record label executive Veli Dlamini, started dating. She revealed that they met in Cape Town five years ago while she was on a tour with local artists Kwesta, Slikour and Shugasmakx.
"After a fun interview with the guys on my radio show, he came to say thanks and asked for my numbers," Ayanda told the local publication.
"I must admit I didn't think he was going to hit on me. I just saw a guy who took his job very seriously."
However, shortly after, the two got into a relationship after realising they had a lot in common.
"I didn't want to rush into a relationship just for the sake of it. I knew that the guy I was destined to meet and fall in love with would be my life partner. And luckily, Veli came along and became that man. He's a wonderful man who makes me happy and is a solid support structure."
Ayanda has never shied away from going public with her relationship, as she would often share gushing notes about her husband on Instagram.
"Love you long time," she wrote on one adorable post of the two of them.
