The Kagiso-born actress didn’t have it easy coming up, with her parents divorcing when she was six. Two years later, her mother was involved in a car accident that left her a quadriplegic (a person that has paralysis of all four limbs).
‘I was a wreck, and all my life I was a loner because of that,’ Mots said.
Her mother’s condition forced her to grow up quickly, as she took on the role of caregiver. The Greed and Desire actress however never shows self-pity.
‘I wasn’t allowed to cry. She didn’t want me to show emotion.’
Today the young actress has worked through her issues, having nabbed the role of Thabitha on Generations: The Legacy and recently, Tselane Dlamini on Mzansi Magic’s telenovela, Greed and Desire.
