The film’s writer Sean Drummond told Variety magazine they are putting a contemporary spin on a Western theme.
“The time is more right than ever before for this film. Socially and politically, a lot of the themes we explore are resonating now... the good Westerns always had socio-political undercurrents running through them.”
The movie, which is currently being shot in the Eastern Cape, is directed by Michael Matthews.
It has already won praise ahead of its release.
The Durban FilmMart’s finance forum awarded the movie the Best South African Film in Development prize in 2013.
Judging by the behind-the-scenes pictured the cast has shared on social media, movie goers are in for something very special.
