Breaking her silence on the constant hate that she gets online, Bonang Matheba is determined to hold her head high, saying that she is a stronger person for it.
Bonang is on the cover of Marie Claire's July issue and admits that while she has been called every name under the sun, she tries her hardest not to let it get to her.
"If this past six months had happened to me six years ago, I would be broken. I would be on the floor at my mother's house, weeping, on a drip, using an asthma pump. I would be finished. Now it's water off a duck's back."
Although Bonang says that she wants to eventually have a talk show of her own, she wants to use all of the opportunities that she has been given to inspire young girls.
"I'm hard-working. I'm very talented. I wake up in the mornings wanting to do better than I did yesterday, do better than I did an hour ago."
B, who has become the target of much online hate ever since DJ Zinhle revealed in a blog post that Bonang was the reason she and her baby daddy AKA had split, admits that she has been bullied.
"Every single word in the world that you can think of, I've been called. I've encountered the worst. The very worst."
She's positive though, saying that she has endured many things in her life.
Referring to her previous relationships, Bonang says that she has "mastered the art of silence."
"I have gone through the worst pain: an ex-boyfriend having a child with someone else during our relationship. Being beaten. Being cheated on. Being embarrassed on social media numerous times. I am not combative. I don't enjoy arguments. I don't like to fight. I am a very peaceful soul."
B spoke to the glossy magazine about her future, saying that "I just want to be about Louis Vuitton, and Top Billing and Revlon. Amazing hair, contouring, inspiring young girls."
