Acting National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane said although he can’t reveal much on the murder case of Johannesburg student Palesa Madiba, detectives are working hard and an arrest will be made soon.
The 21-year-old Madiba went missing in August 2013 after visiting a friend in Soweto.
Her remains were discovered in a shallow grave at a house in Phiri in December last year.

An anonymous tip off led Moroka police to a friend’s house in Phiri where they found the bones in a shallow grave.
Family spokesperson Thabiso Tsoledi said the law must take its course for them to have closure, but they are happy they can finally lay her to rest.
Phahlane said he is confident there will be a breakthrough.
“At a point where we’ve something to share with the nation, we’ll get to you and communicate but I’m very happy with the progress that has been made. Very capable investigating officer is busy with the case.”
