Local R&B singer Cici has left Arthur Mafokate’s record label 999 for Ambitiouz Entertainment. Both Cici and the entertainment house took to social media to share the news to the surprise of fans.

Pending when an official statement is released, head of PR at Ambitiouz Entertainment Gaba Sebego said: “I can confirm that Cici is part of Ambitiouz, she has signed a contract but a formal statement will be issued later in the week. We are happy and she is also exited to be part of Ambitiouz family.” Meanwhile, Cici’s name has been added to the list of Ambitiouz artists on their social media.

Cici’s transition to Ambitiouz comes barely over a week after she was embroiled in a case of domestic violence with Arthur Mafokate. Cici had reportedly secured the deal without Arthur’s knowledge. The singer broke her silence last month about a reported incident between herself and Kwaito legend. After it was reported that Mafokate allegedly abused her, rumours started making rounds that the two have kissed and made up. However, in her statement released on social media in June, CiCi made it clear that the charges against Arthur will not be dropped, at least not by herself.

“I refute claims that me and Mr Arthur Mafokate have kissed and made up. I also refute claims that I have dropped the assault charges against Arthur as reported in the media. As far as I know, the charges against Arthur are still pending and I have no intentions of dropping them.” On the other hand, in his interview with Drum, Arthur said that he was not an abuser. Nevertheless, he added that there was an incident that happened between them. “What hurts me is that an hour before the incident we were in love and hugging each other. The incident happened and my life changed.” Cici has since filed charges of abuse against the kwaito king.
