TV and radio sports presenter Robert Marawa says SABC executives who claim he had given his Metro FM bosses an ultimatum to give him powers to change the name of his show and to fire his producers, are being economical with the truth.
According to the executives who did not want to be identified, Marawa made these demands in an e-mail to station manager Sibongile Mtyali.
However, Marawa says this is pure hogwash. "They [the management] asked us to suggest a new name for the show because the MTN contract has come to an end and we can't use 083Sports anymore ... I submitted my new name suggestion but they never came back to us to say if they've accepted it or not ... so come Monday, I had no idea of what the show's name was and hence no imaging was done by me for the show," he said.
He said by fabricating these lies, the executives wanted to tarnish his name.
