One of Mzansi’s most loved reality shows was trending again on Wednesday night for, among other reasons, Papa Penny’s English and the new ponytail he was sporting.
If we didn't know about Baba Ndaba Mhlongo, imagine the rumours we would start now ! 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 #PapaPennyAhee pic.twitter.com/RSSt8e7TwC— Sphamandla Mkhize (@MandlaMkhize) March 15, 2017
Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo, whose English also has rules of its own, laughed at him, saying he was the disco king’s son.
Penny Penny decided to take his wife to his former place of employment for 10 years, ZZ2, saying it was important for her to know where he started. He said it would help her spend money wisely, as most wives were careless with money. However, it was the way he said “careless” that left Somizi in stitches.
It sounded something like “curls”.
Watch the video he posted below:
Both entertainers have been laughed at for their “poor” English, and both have hit back at the critics, saying they did not get that far because they had the perfect English but they worked hard and now had much more compared to most with “perfect” English.
Penny Penny also used last night’s episode to unveil tombstones in honour of his family members.
Though there were hiccups during preparations, with the company that was supposed to bring the tombstones on Wednesday not arriving, it eventually came together and everything went well.
Penny Penny left Mzansi heartbroken when he broke down at his father’s grave, saying he died when he was still young. The tombstone was written:
“In loving memory of our father Johannes Magoga. Born: 1896. Passed away: 1965.”
The epitaph continues: “Hello, my children, I was the man of man I’ll be resting in peace from today because I have my own house. I ask that all my children will love one another [sic].”
